The scene

The scene is the term used by many folk to refer to the BDSM community. This may be just the local community of which they feel themselves to be a part, or others around the world with whom they feel some connection. As part of this there is a sense of shared interests, shared values, or common activities.

In a narrower sense, "the scene" may refer to the BDSM community events which are occurring at the time and can include social activities, play parties, meetings, workshops, munches, training, etc.
