Official press release of writing awards

National Leather Association: International, a leading organization for
activists in the pansexual SM/leather community, announced the winners for
excellence in literary works in SM/leather/fetish writing published in 2014.
The judges received a great number of nominations this year and judging in
most categories was quite difficult with such exemplary pieces of writing.

Winner of the Geoff Mains Non-Fiction Book Award is Peter Masters for "A
Year of Dominance" (self-published). Honorable mention in this category goes
to Shanna Germain for "As Kinky As You Wanna Be" (Cleis Press)

In the John Preston Short Fiction category, the winner is D.L. King for
"Grace Under Pressure" from the anthology "She Who Must Be Obeyed" (Lethe
Press). Honorable mention for short story had a three way tie going to D.L.
King for "My Pretty Pony" from the anthology "Bound For Trouble: BDSM
Erotica For Women" (ed.) Alison Tyler (Cleis Press), David Wraith for
"Prison Bitch" from the anthology "The Big Book of Domination: Erotic
Fantasies" (ed.) D.L. King (Cleis Press) and L.M. Somerton for "Mantrap"
(Totally Bound Publishing).

Winner of the Samois Anthology Award is Alison Tyler (ed.), "Twisted:
Bondage With An Edge" (Cleis Press). Honorable mention goes to D.L. King
(ed.) for "The Big Book of Domination: Erotic Fantasies" (Cleis Press)

Pauline Reage Novel category winner is Jeff Mann for "Salvation: A Novel of
the Civil War" (Bear Bones Books). The judges had were unable to select only
one runner up so there was a four way tie for Honorable Mention in this
category.  Honorable Mentions go to Kay Jaybee for "Knowing Her Place"
(Xcite Books), Jeff Mann for "Cub" (Bear Bones Books), L.M. Somerton for
"Rasputin's Kiss" (Totally Bound Publishing) and to Lauren Gallagher for
"I'll Show You Mine" (Samhain Publishing)

The winner of the Cynthia Slater Non-fiction Article Award is Sinclair
Sexsmith for "All The Tops Afraid To Make The First Move" which appeared
on February 25. Honorable Mention in this category goes to Race Bannon for
"Kink Is About Connection" which appeared August 21 in The Bay Area
Reporter.

Nominations for literary works published in 2015 will open late this year.
