Etiquette

Etiquette typically refers to social rules which apply to interactions between BDSM folk to avoid conflict or problems.

For example, at play parties you shouldn't talk to people who are playing without being invited to do so. Otherwise you risk distracting them and breaking their moods. Likewise, you shouldn't approach too closely, take photographs, or talk loudly to others about what is going on.

Also, it is bad form to speak to a collared submissive or slave without first having spoken to their master or dominant. They might be under orders not to speak to others and you might be causing them to disobey. At the very least you will cause them discomfort because in such a case they might very well have to be rude to you and ignore you. Alternatively, their master or dominant may have proprietary feelings in their regard and not wish their property to be spoken to without them being present.
